Life and lineage

Luang Pu Sao Kantasīlo was, with his disciple Ajahn Mun Bhuridatta, the co-founder of the Thai Forest Kammatthāna tradition. He was the senior figure who reintroduced the dhutanga ascetic disciplines and the lineage of forest practice that became the source of the modern Thai Forest tradition.
