Terms of service.

By creating an account on The Promised Studios, by purchasing a subscription or a product, or by booking a pilgrimage experience, you accept these terms of service. These terms form a binding agreement between you and The Promised Studios Pte. Ltd., incorporated in Singapore, with branch operations in Nepal, India, and the United States.

If you do not accept these terms, please do not create an account. You may continue to read freely-published material on the platform without an account.

You must be at least thirteen years of age to create an account. If you are under eighteen, you must have the consent of a parent or guardian to enter into a paid subscription, purchase a product, or book a pilgrimage.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential. Notify us immediately at privacy@thepromisedstudios.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

Open is free and has no expiry. Member and Pilgrim Circle are paid subscriptions. Prices are quoted in USD on the global storefront, with local-currency equivalents at checkout in INR, NPR, SGD, JPY, GBP, EUR, and AUD.

Monthly plans renew monthly. Annual plans renew annually. You may cancel at any time from Profile → Settings → Membership. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; annual plans pro-rate to the unused months.

We may change subscription prices with sixty days’ written notice. If the new price is unacceptable to you, you may cancel before it takes effect without penalty.

All content on The Promised Studios is licensed from monasteries, lineage holders, teachers, sacred-site custodians, and named artisans. The monasteries and teachers retain copyright in their teachings. The Promised Studios is a publisher with formal discourse agreement.

You may stream content for personal, non-commercial use within the territory permitted by your subscription. You may not redistribute, mirror, public-screen, or commercially exploit any content without prior written consent.

A monastery or teacher may withdraw a teaching from the platform at their discretion. We will honour any such withdrawal within thirty days, retaining only the minimum archival copy required by law.

Every product sold through the shop is sourced from a named monastery or artisan. Every product page displays the dana percentage — between 10 and 35 percent — that flows directly to the source community.

Sacred-site originals and limited-numbered objects are authenticated and shipped with a provenance certificate. The serial number on the certificate is the authoritative record. We will replace certified objects damaged in transit at our cost within fourteen days of delivery.

Returns are accepted within thirty days of receipt for unblessed objects in original condition. Blessed objects — those that have passed through a ceremony at the source monastery — are non-returnable; we believe a blessed object belongs with its recipient.

Pilgrimage experiences in Tiers 2 through 6 require a deposit at booking. The deposit is refundable in full up to sixty days before departure, 50% creditable thirty to sixty days before departure, and non-refundable within thirty days of departure.

You are responsible for valid travel documents, vaccinations as required by the destination country, and travel insurance. We do not arrange visas but provide letters of invitation where the destination requires them.

Force majeure events (natural disasters, political emergencies, pandemic-related restrictions, monastic closure) may require us to reschedule a pilgrimage. We will offer either a full refund or a credit transferrable to a future departure within twenty-four months.

The Promised Studios is a contemplative platform shared with monastics, lineage holders, and serious practitioners. We expect — and enforce — a baseline of dignity in all member-to-member interactions, comments on community surfaces, and behaviour during live broadcasts and pilgrimage activity.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to suspend or terminate accounts that engage in harassment, doctrinal misrepresentation, commercial spam, or any conduct that damages the relationship between the platform and a monastery, teacher, or fellow member.

The platform is provided on an “as is” basis. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available in every jurisdiction.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the platform is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 100.

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable consumer-protection law, including the law of any state of the European Union, the United Kingdom, India, Singapore, the United States, or Nepal.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the platform shall be submitted to arbitration in Singapore under the rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, in English, before a single arbitrator.

Notwithstanding the above, consumers in the European Union, the United Kingdom, India, and the United States retain the right to bring proceedings in their local courts where mandatory law so provides.

We may amend these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email at least thirty days before they take effect. By continuing to use the platform after a change takes effect, you accept the amended terms. If you do not accept the amendment, you may cancel your account before it takes effect without penalty.
