Meister Eckhart

Meister Eckhart was a Dominican theologian, philosopher, and mystic whose sermons on the "ground of the soul" and the birth of God in the soul remain among the most daring expressions of Christian contemplative thought. Condemned posthumously by the papacy for some formulations, his teaching on detachment, the nothingness of the creature, and the indistinct Godhead has influenced mystics, philosophers, and interfaith dialoguers ever since.
