Life and lineage

Master Yin Shun was the most influential Chinese Buddhist scholar-monk of the twentieth century and the principal articulator of "Buddhism for the Human Realm" (人間佛教), which became the doctrinal foundation for both Cheng Yen's Tzu Chi and Hsing Yun's Fo Guang Shan. His critical scholarship on the Madhyamaka and the historical Buddha reshaped modern Chinese Buddhist thought.
