Martín Prechtel is a Tzutujil Maya teacher, musician, and author who was trained as a shaman in the village of Santiago Atitlán, Guatemala. After the death of his teacher and the Guatemalan civil war, he settled in New Mexico, where he teaches a rooted, grief-honoring spirituality that links indigenous Mayan cosmology with the longings of modern seekers.
