Malidoma Somé was a Dagara elder and shaman who bridged West African indigenous spirituality and the modern West. Kidnapped by Jesuit missionaries as a child, he later returned to his village to undergo initiation. His books Of Water and the Spirit and The Healing Wisdom of Africa present the Dagara cosmology of ancestors, ritual, and community as a living path of healing.
