Lama Thubten Yeshe was the founder, with Lama Zopa Rinpoche, of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT) and of Kopan Monastery on the hills above Boudhanath — one of the foundational institutions of Tibetan Buddhism in the West. His informal, psychologically literate teaching style, captured in Becoming Your Own Therapist and Introduction to Tantra, made him one of the most beloved early translators of Tibetan dharma into modern Western idiom.
