Ibn Arabi, known as the Greatest Master (Shaykh al-Akbar), is the most influential speculative mystic in Islamic history. His doctrine of wahdat al-wujud — the unity of being — proposes that all apparent multiplicity is the self-disclosure of the one divine reality. His massive al-Futuhat al-Makkiyya and the Fusus al-Hikam have shaped Sufi thought from Spain to India.
