Life and lineage

Geshe Lhundub Sopa was one of the first Tibetan Geshes to teach Buddhist philosophy at a Western university, holding a faculty position at the University of Wisconsin–Madison from 1967 to 1997. He founded Deer Park Buddhist Center in Wisconsin and was a senior geshe examiner within the Gelug monastic system. His five-volume Steps on the Path to Enlightenment is the most thorough modern English commentary on Tsongkhapa's Lamrim Chenmo.
