HH the Drikung Kyabgön Chetsang

His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgön Chetsang is the 37th throne-holder of the Drikung Kagyu lineage. After a remarkable escape from Tibet in 1975, he rebuilt the Drikung Kagyu Institute in Dehradun and re-established the lineage's traditional three-year retreats. He is a recognised scholar of Tibetan history and a prolific author, and serves as a steward of the Phowa empowerment cycles for which the Drikung lineage is especially renowned.
