Chogye Trichen Rinpoche was the 26th throne-holder of the Tsharpa subschool of the Sakya tradition and one of the foremost masters of Vajrayogini, Lamdré Lobshe, and the rare Nyendrup of Avalokiteshvara. Universally recognised as a senior teacher to HH Sakya Trichen and HH Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, he was a teacher's teacher of unparalleled depth.
In exile he established Jamchen Lhakhang at Boudhanath and, of singular importance to The Promised Studios, founded Tashi Rabten Ling monastery at Lumbini — anchoring the Sakya tradition to the Buddha's birthplace. He held the complete transmissions of all six major tantric practices of the Sakya school and was renowned for his accessibility, longevity in retreat, and quiet authority.
