Life and lineage

Bhikkhu Anālayo is the foremost living scholar of comparative early-Buddhism studies, known for his rigorous comparative work between the Pali Nikayas, the Chinese Āgamas, and Tibetan parallel sources. His Satipatthana: The Direct Path to Realization (Windhorse, 2003) is one of the most cited modern works on mindfulness practice. He combines deep monastic discipline with academic rigour and is a leading voice in the bhikkhuni-ordination revival.
